Préparer, c’est mourir!

In traditional Amanda fashion, I’ve waited until the very last moment to pack my bags. There were lots of other things to fret about besides packing, like drawing up a budget so I don’t spend my life’s savings on croissants and tabouleh from the Marais district and figuring out how this newfangled international cell phone works.

This trip still doesn’t feel real to me. I don’t feel like I’m truly going to France, and yet I’ve experienced the full roller coaster of emotions in the past week alone. From sheer terror to excitement, nervousness to utter bliss, all I know is that studying abroad is going to be totally SWEET.

The plane departs tomorrow. Since I’m using the camera bag as my carry-on, storage space for lenses next to all the paperwork and books is severely limited. I’ve settled on just the 17-55 and the 24-85; The poor telephoto is being left behind due to its unruly weight and my having to lug it around for six weeks. Sorry, Bertha.

Only 12 more hours until it’s au revoir, Orlando!

I couldn’t be more happier for you. Take lots of pictures for all of us. Can’t wait to see them all.

    Be safe on your adventures.
